Wendy Michelle Soetaert

Wendy Michelle Soetaert, age 46 of Wellsville, Kansas passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Olathe Hospice House. A celebration of life will be held 1PM, Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Options For Animals, 4267 Virginia in Wellsville. In lieu of floral arrangements, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Wendy Soetaert Memorial Fund or the Wellsville Friends Foundation in care of Wilson’s, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.

Wendy Michelle Soetaert was born July 2, 1975 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of William and Diana (Muma) Shaffer. She grew up in Spring Hill, KS and graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1993. After graduation, she attended hair school and later became the manager of Just For Hair in Overland Park. She worked there for 23 years. On November 7, 1998, she married Timothy Earl Soetaert in Gardner, KS. They were married 23 years and had 3 children before her passing. Tim survives at the home. Wendy loved spending time with her family and enjoyed her kids’ activities and sporting events.

She is survived by her husband Tim of the home; daughter, Shelby Marie and sons, Wesley Mason and Zakary Lane, all of the home; her beloved, spoiled Frenchy, Jake; her parents, Bill and Diana Shaffer of Spring Hill; her mother and father-in-law, Chuck and Charlene Soetaert of Spring Hill; sister, Robin Harris of Bonner Springs; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
