Terrence “Terry” Lee Moyer, age 69 of Wellsville, Kansas passed away Monday, April 13, 2026 at his home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM, Friday, April 17, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 426 S. Cedar Street, Ottawa. Visitation will be 6-8PM, Thursday evening at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville.  A private Rite of Committal will follow funeral services at the Wellsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School in care of Wilson’s, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.

Terry Lee Moyer was born August 30, 1956 in Kansas City, Kansas the oldest of 7 children born to Orville Ray and Virginia Marie (Kubicki) Moyer. He grew up in Kansas City, attending his first years of school at Blessed Sacrament. He attended St. Peter’s Catholic School for his 4th-8th grade years, and his freshman year of high school at Bishop Ward. In the summer of 1971, Terry moved to Wellsville where he finished high school, graduating in 1974. He later attended Johnson County Community College, where he studied business.

On September 9, 1974 he joined the United States Marines. He was honorably discharged after 2 years of active service and 4 years of service in the Marine Corps Reserves.

On August 12, 1978, Terry married Debra Kay McConnell. They shared 47 ½ years of marriage before his passing. She survives at their home in Wellsville.

Terry was an entrepreneur his entire life. He valued hard work, his faith, and most importantly, his family. He owned and operated an over-the-road trucking company from 1976 to 1990 and later operated Lee Automotive in Wellsville from 1988 to 2001. He operated 5 Star Roofing from 2005 to 2013 and throughout many of those years to current day, was a real estate investor.

Terry loved his grandchildren immensely. His favorite times were spent watching and supporting his grandkids in their various activities. A lifelong hobby now carried on through his grandchildren was demolition derby. He began competing in the early 1980’s into the early 2000’s. He loved car shows and muscle cars and was a member of the Kansas City Mopar Club. He was also a member of the Baldwin Knights of Columbus and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Terry is survived by his wife Debbie of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Russ and Crystal Moyer of Wellsville; daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Richard Neis of Eudora; son, Travis Moyer of Wellsville; grandchildren: Ella, Clara, Maggie, Oliver and Molly Moyer and Reilly, Kasen and Morgan Neis; sisters, Nina Moyer of WI; Mary Moyer-Abbas of KS; Lesa Moyer of KS; Karen Huber of AZ; brother, Spencer Moyer of MO; and mother-in-law, Doris McConnell of Wellsville.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Virginia Moyer, brother Karl Channing and father-in-law, Elmer McConnell.
