Suzanne Renee Neitenbach was born October 28, 1971 in Olathe Kansas, the daughter of James and Karen Thomasson. Suzanne grew up with her 3 Brothers and 3 sisters in Olathe. She was a rambunctious high energy child and an exceptional athlete, playing softball in a regional travel league as the starting left fielder and lead-off hitter. At Olathe North High School, she played softball and ran track competing in multiple sprinting events. She graduated high school in 1990. Suzanne attended Lindenwood University, in St. Charles Missouri, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She graduated in 1996 earning her teaching certificate shortly thereafter.
Suzanne met Gerald in College and they were married in 1995 after dating for 3 years. Suzanne was a dedicated teacher, and positively impacted many children throughout her career. She was certified and taught in multiple states supporting her husband’s military career. Suzanne was a mentally tough and independent woman and thrived as a military spouse during long separations from Gerald. Suzanne enjoyed physical fitness and was an avid runner, racing various distances. She ran until cancer forced her to abandon the sport, then she took up walking and enjoyed it until her passing.
Suzanne’s most impactful role was being a mother to her son. If anything defined her, it was motherhood! She sacrificed her career and focused on her family, raising her son and fine tuning her husband. She always put their needs before her own! Her efforts produced a fine son, that is intelligent, caring and passionate about life. She is greatly missed.
Suzanne is survived by her spouse Gerald Neitenbach of 28 years, and young son Caleb, her parents, James and Karen Thomasson, sisters Rebecca Leseberg, Tricia May and her brother Steve Thomasson.
Suzanne was preceded in death by brothers, Kevin Thomasson and Michael Thomasson.
