Shirley Ann Fort, age 79 of Wellsville, Kansas passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Olathe Medical Center. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be 3-5PM, Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Milestone Events in Wellsville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Wilson’s, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Shirley Ann Fort was born September 7, 1943 in Paola, Kansas the daughter of Beuford Eugene and Lilly Maxine (Hanshew) Attebery. She graduated from Paola High School in 1961 and on June 14, 1963, she married Larry Fort. To this union, 3 children were born: Teresa, Ray and Jenny.
Shirley was a member of the Red Hat Floozies and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Shirley is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Keith Klamm of Wellsville; son-in-law, Rob Chancellor of Spring Hill; daughter-in-law, Tara Fort of Pueblo, CO; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Ann Attebery of Topeka; brother, Dennis Attebery of Belton, MO; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Teresa, son, Ray and 2 brothers, Max and Don.
