Sharon Sue Spruytte

Sharon Sue Spruytte, age 76 of Wellsville, KS passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. Funeral services will be 10AM, Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. Visitation will be 6-7:30, Tuesday evening, also at Wilson’s. Interment will follow services in the Wellsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wellsville City Library in care of Wilson’s, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.

Sharon Sue Spruytte was born August 26, 1946 in Parsons, Kansas the daughter of Roy Allen Lackey, Jr. and Evelyn Wandalee Spencer. She grew up in Olathe and graduated from Olathe High  in 1964. Sharon went to college in Emporia for a year and worked at the Lenexa State Bank and the First National Bank in Olathe. On April 3, 1970, she married Morris Spruytte in Olathe and they were married 52 years before her passing. He survives at the home in Wellsville. Sharon worked for the Olathe School District #233 for over 30 years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of the Red Hat Floozies in Wellsville and the Throbs in Olathe. She enjoyed playing Bunko, shopping and loved to go fishing. She was a member of a reading club in Olathe and loved spending time with her husband dancing with several groups of friends and square dancing with the Docey Dandy’s in Gardner.

Sharon is survived by her husband of the home; daughter Trisha Spruytte of Wellsville; sister Joan Barenklau of DeSoto; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Todd Spruytte (2004).
