Born March 26, 1937, in St. Louis, MO,  to Charles Franklin Arnold and Delice Madge (Earhart) Arnold, Sandra grew up in the Argentine area, attending Stanley Grade School and then Argentine High School in Kansas City, KS.  Throughout high school, Sandra "Sandy" was involved in many social clubs and organizations and groups, such as the student congress, Y-Teens, nurses club, band, bowling team and more. She served as president of the student council and was a cheerleader, football queen attendant, band member and a majorette. She was honored as queen of Job's Daughters, Bethel #12, in 1954. Sandra was a 1955 graduate of Argentine High School.

While attending Kansas State University, she was involved in Pi Beta Phi sorority. She earned her bachelor's degree from Kansas State University and later earned an advanced degree in nursing from the University of Kansas School of Nursing. She started her public health career as a school nurse.  Sandra was a lifetime member of both The University of Kansas and Kansas State University Alumni Associations.

On July 29, 1961, she married Kenneth Earl Hausler in a ceremony at Metropolitan Avenue Methodist Church. In 1962 they moved to the Wellsville community after purchasing the local drug store. She was a "stay at home mom" with numerous volunteer jobs, including working at the Hausler Pharmacy as the bookkeeper and fill-in soda jerk. Sandra held a realtor’s license for several years, and in 1980 she rejoined the nursing profession as a public health nurse in Franklin and Johnson Counties. She was an active member of the Wellsville United Methodist Church, Friends of the Library and was a past board member of the Wellsville City Library.

Sandra enjoyed involvement in many clubs and organizations such as Crescent Club, Red Hat Society, Evening Circle, Friday Quilters and was actively involved in leading youth activities through SHAFF 4-H Club and Cub Scouts. Sandra was a long-time member of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Sandra and Ken, who passed away in 1990, were avid sports fans, cheering loudly for the Wellsville Eagles, KU Jayhawks, K-State Wildcats and the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. She enjoyed researching family ancestry and loved playing bridge and dominos with friends and family. Quilting was one of her favorite passions, along with family gatherings and visiting her four grandchildren. Later in life, Sandra volunteered regularly at Wellsville Health and Rehab before making it her home.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
