Ronald Lynn Martin, age 70 of Wellsville, Kansas passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Olathe Medical Center. Visitation will be 2-3:30PM, Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Wilson’s Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow visitation at Enright Garden’s Brooklyn Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ron Martin Memorial Fund in care of Wilson’s, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Ronald Lynn Martin was born May 21, 1951, in Burlington, Kansas, the son of Thomas L. and Margaret Lucille (Young) Martin. Ron grew up in Wellsville and graduated from WHS in 1969. On May 11, 1972 he married Connie Lou John in Olathe, Kansas. They were married almost 50 years before his passing. She survives at the home. Ron was a carpenter and handyman and did many construction and improvement projects in Wellsville for decades. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, 4-wheelers, tinkering in his garage, travelling, museums and loved spending time with his family.
Ron is survived by his wife Connie of the home; daughter, Gina Smith (Chris) of Ottawa; daughter, Bonnie Norman of Wellsville; son Joe Martin (Jennifer) of Wellsville; sisters: Betty Munsil (Jim) of Kansas City, KS; Joyce Cole of Linwood; Kay Cox (Don) of Ottawa; Charlene Martin of Garnett; brothers Grover Martin of Wellsville and Tom Martin of Peoria; 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Lee and Floyd Martin.
