Ronald Dean Dorsey, age 64 of Wellsville, KS passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 surrounded by all of his family and loved ones. Memorial services will be 11AM, Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. Visitation will be 6-8PM, Friday, July 1, 2022, also at Wilson’s. Inurnment will follow services in the Wellsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ron Dorsey Memorial Fund in care of Wilson’s, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Ronald Dean Dorsey was born June 22, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Richard Dorsey and Donna (Robinson) McDaniels. He grew up in Olathe, Edgerton and Wellsville and attended Wellsville schools. He was employed at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant, Gill Studios and Coleman.
Ron married Vicky Abbott on April 23, 1978. They later divorced but remained friends and Ron continued to love her two children, Shelly and Chris. Ron married Kathy Seyler, December 29, 1984 and together they had two beautiful daughters. He loved his dog, Quaid, who was his best friend. Ron had many activities he enjoyed. He loved fishing, racing, riding his Harley and drinking beer with his friends. He had a great love for music and spending time with his friends, family and grandchildren was his greatest joy. Ron had recently enjoyed going to swap meets and restoring old bicycles and cars.
Ron never passed an opportunity to lend a helping hand. He was the type of person to give the shirt off of his back to anyone, at any time. He will forever be greatly and dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Chasity Murphy (Nick) of Edgerton; daughter Dana Ausherman (Taylor) of Baldwin City; 8 grandchildren: Hailey, Hunter, Keldyn, Kayden, Harper, Hollie, Hattie and Klyde; sister, Jonnie Powell of Wellsville; Pam Lorimer (Daniel) of Rockvale, TN; brother, Bobby Dorsey (Debbie) of Amarillo, TX; sister, Cathy Stewart (Dave) of Topeka; sister, Debbie Rhoades (Marty) of Olathe; sister, Carrie Ellifrits (Mike) of Missouri; many nieces and nephews who adored their uncle, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his parents; nephews Robert and Travis Powell, niece Kayla Dorsey a great-niece and 2 great-nephews.
