Robert Eugene Burns

Robert E "Bob" Burns, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 29th. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born on December 24th, 1952 in Ottawa, KS to Clarence and Mildred (Spring) Burns. He spent 30 years working for Delphi/General Motors before he retired. He was married to Claudia Ann Shields on December 15, 1997 and between them they had five daughters.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Claudia; daughters Heather (and Wayne) Evans; Ashley Kovtachev, Amanda Fluderer, Melissia (and Zach) Hudson, and Amy Wilhite, and 13 grandchildren.
Bob loved to watch sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and was often seen wearing his lucky Chiefs shirt. He was an amazing story teller, life of the party and was kind to every single person he encountered always calling everyone by name. He will be greatly missed but his strong legacy will carry on with those who were lucky enough to know and love him.
No funeral services will be held as it was Bob's wish to be cremated. However, the family will host a Celebration of Life in the coming weeks.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Olathe Cancer Center in Bob's memory. The family is very grateful for the kindness, compassion and care of the entire staff shown during his battle with cancer.
