Richard "Larry" Hodges

Richard "Larry" Hodges, age 71 of Wellsville, KS passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Baldwin Healthcare and Rehab Center in Baldwin. A memorial service will be held 11AM, Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Wellsville Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Larry Hodges Memorial Fund in care of Wilson's, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Larry Hodges was born February 24, 1947 in Magee, Mississippi, the son of Claudine Coy. He spent his early youth in Dover, Tennessee and grew up in Granite City, Illinois. He moved to Humboldt, Kansas in 1972 and married Sheila Rae Taylor on August 21, 1975 in Iola, KS. They had one child, Richard E. Hodges. Larry spent most of his adult life working as an appliance repairman until his retirement. He enjoyed playing with his nieces, nephews and grandchildren and watching old Westerns.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sheila of Baldwin Healthcare, Baldwin City; son, Richard Hodges and his wife Teresa of Wellsville; grandchildren, Brandon Hodges of Ottawa; Nathan Barrett of Lawrence; and Jacob Hodges of Wellsville; a brother, Don Coy and his wife Donna of Humboldt and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Kenny and Claudine Coy and his sister, Judy Watring.
