Richard Carl Frentrop, age 78 of Wellsville passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Good Samaritan of Olathe. Military services for inurnment of cremains will be 12:30PM, Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Richard Carl Frentrop was born September 12, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Richard Wayne and Mary (Wilsons) Frentrop. Richard graduated from Ruskin High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1964 and joined the United States Marine Corps August 18, 1964. He served his country 6 years and was honorably discharged in 1970. He was a Vietnam Vet.
Richard was a warehouse supervisor and retired from Associated Grocers. He was an avid Chiefs and Royals Enthusiast and enjoyed collecting coins. He was a volunteer for Toys For Tots for the last 30 years. He involved himself in the care of other veterans and contributing and helping others in need. Richard loved to play baseball and coach kids and he was an accomplished bowler and animal lover.
Richard is survived by his son, Rick Frentrop; daughter, Rochelle Carr (CJ); son, Brian Pugh (Donna); sisters, Debbie Sackrider and Tina Frentrop; grandsons, Tony Russo (Jordyn), Matt Russo and Joey Russo; great-grandson, Sterling Russo; and other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jackie Kirby and a brother, Terry Wayne.
