Norma Anna Boone

Norma Anna Boone, age 95 of Gardner, Kansas passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Wellsville Retirement Community. Funeral services will be 2PM, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Wilson's Funeral Home in Wellsville. Visitation will be 6-8PM, Monday December 12, 2016, also at Wilson's. Interment will follow services in the Wellsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wellsville American Legion Auxiliary, the Wellsville Retirement Community, Wellsville City Library or the First Presbyterian Church of Gardner in care of Wilson's, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Norma Anna Boone was born December 17, 1920 in Grandfield, Oklahoma the daughter of Herman Carl and Elizabeth (Hartwig) Baumgart. She grew up in south Texas and graduated from high school in Donna, TX in 1939. After high school she attended college at Texas Lutheran for 2 years. On October 13, 1945, she married Kenneth F. Boone in Wellsville. He preceded her in death in 1989. She was a homemaker for the vast majority of her life, raising 6 children in a military family. Kenneth was a member of the United States Air Force and they moved around frequently. She was a lifetime member of the Wellsville American Legion Auxiliary Louis H.Hanson Post 194, The Crescent Club, served on the board for the Wellsville City Library and attended the 1st Presbyterian Church of Gardner.
Norma is survived by her children; daughter, Gwen Boone of Gardner, son, Keith (Jo Ann) Boone of Pasadena, Maryland; son, Lloyd (Pam) Boone of Marietta, Georgia; daughter, Wanda (Kevin) Brown of Bentonville, Arkansas; son, Richard (Pam) Boone of Olathe; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; she is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Ronald Boone (1976), 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
