Melinda Bouse Obituary

Melinda Sue Bouse, age 57 of Wellsville, Kansas passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Olathe Medical Center. A casual memorial visitation will be held 6-8PM, Friday, February 2, 2018 at Wilson's Funeral Home in Wellsville. Cremation will follow with a burial of cremains in the Maple Hill Cemetery in KCK. Family suggests memorial contributions be made in her name in care of Wilson's, PO Box 486, Wellsville, Kansas 66092.
Melinda Sue Bouse was born April 17, 1960 in Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of Clyde and Coleen Mae (Pock) Velaer. She grew up and went to schools in the Turner School District in Kansas City, Kansas. Melinda had worked at Gills Studio for many years in Lenexa where she met the love of her life. She married Billy Eugene Bouse, April 22, 1994 in Wellsville. They were married almost 24 years before her passing. She had been in Wellsville for almost the last 30 years and worked for the Wellsville School District in the lunchroom as the food service director. She loved working in the school and being able to be around all the children. Melinda loved to cook and shop. She loved her crosses and angel wings; her grandchildren, her dog, Opie and going to the casino. She loved the KU BB team and the Royals. She loved all holidays and decorating for them. Barbies and the color pink were her among her favorites. She loved gardening and yard work and enjoyed planting her flowers. She loved Coke, taffy, dill pickles and her cigarettes. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her wonderful and sweet personality. She was funny, she was beautiful and she was sassy.
She is survived by her husband, Bill of the home; her father, Clyde of KCK; daughter Shawna Mae Saylors-Smith of Wellsville; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Keith Culbertson of Shawnee, KS; Son and daughter-in-law Rick and Amanda Saylors of Wellsville; 3 grandchildren, Olivia, Dayton and Peyton; a brother, Wayne Velaer of Shawnee and wife Joni and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother.
