Mary Catharine O'Neil, age 103 of Wellsville, Kansas passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 in Hiawatha, Kansas. Funeral services will be 11AM, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Wilson's Funeral Home in Wellsville. Visitation will be 10-11AM, one hour prior. Interment will follow services in the Wellsville Cemetery. Mary Catharine O'Neil was born August 4, 1914 in Edgerton, Kansas the daughter of John C. and Ida Mae (Campbell) Fairchild. She grew up outside of Edgerton and graduated from Edgerton High School. On September 14, 1947 she married Forrest Paul O'Neil. He preceded her in death February 15, 2010. She was a true homemaker all of her life, known for her cinnamon rolls and other baked goods. She loved her family and being with and around them. She was also a skilled seamstress and a member of the Wellsville United Methodist Church.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Ball of Wellsville; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Gene Hillyer of Hiawatha; son and daughter-in-law, John and Cathleen O'Neil of Overland Park; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
