Marvin Keith Ferguson, age 54 of Wellsville, Kansas passed away Monday, October 30, 2023. Funeral services will be 10:30AM, Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. Visitation will be 5-7PM, Tuesday evening, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow services in the Wellsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wellsville Firefighter’s Fund in care of Wilson’s, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Marvin Keith Ferguson was born March 8, 1969 in Gardner, Kansas the son of Ronald Virgil and Charlotte Ann (Patton) Ferguson. Marvin grew up in Wellsville where he attended school and was active in football and wrestling. He graduated from WHS in 1987.
Marvin spent his entire working career in construction as a heavy equipment operator. He was on the Wellsville Fire Department for many years as well as being a first responder.
Marvin is survived by his daughter, Amanda Shoemaker (Nathan) of Lansing, Michigan; sister, Sherry Goodwin (Jeremy) of Lane, KS; sister Dawn (George) Coopey of Pomona, KS; grandsons, James Sterling and William Kai Shoemaker; nieces, Tancy Jane Goodwin (Alex ) of Princeton, KS, Dallitan Louise Goodwin of Lane, KS, and Madison Coopey of Pomona, KS; nephew, Carson Coopey of Pomona, KS; aunt, Donna Fenlaw (Scott) of Texas. He also leaves four girls along with their children that he considered his own: Jessica Rockhold and daughter Rayna Gimlin, Cassandra Harmon (Bryant) and son Elliot, Laiken Rockhold and daughter Ruellen Morris and Hunter Melby (Cole) and daughter Brooklyn.
He is preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents, Marvin and Vergie Ferguson, maternal grandparents, Keith and Norma Patton and uncle, Johnny Ferguson.
