Marion E. McConnell

Marion E. McConnell, age 96 of Wellsville, Kansas passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Vintage Park in Gardner. Graveside services will be 10:30AM, Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Wellsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepard Hospice in care of Wilson's, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Marion E. McConnell was born March 15, 1923 in Edgerton, Kansas the son of Albert and Nellie (Stunz) McConnell. He graduated from Wellsville High School in 1942. On November 8, 1942, he married Avis Nadine Fisher and to this union, one son, Norman, was born. They were married 72 years before her passing in 2015. Marion retired from being a successful farmer and stockman in 1973 and helped his wife run Avis Antiques. He loved to travel and had been in every state in the US and 27 foreign countries. He also enjoyed wood carving and card games and was a member of the Wellsville United Methodist Church.
Marion is survived by many nieces and nephews and is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Norman (1973), a sister, Ruth Todd and 4 brothers, Gilbert, J.D., Russell and Gene.
