Marilyn Ann Todd was born August 31, 1941 in Harveyville, Kansas, the daughter of Kurt Frederick and Fern Lenoa (Dudney) Jenssen. She grew up Harveyville, later moving to Topeka where she graduated from Topeka High School. She met Charles Todd and on August 14, 1966 they were united in marriage. They moved to the Gardner/Spring Hill area where they purchased a corn field and over their years together, turned it into a beloved 40-acre family farm. Marilyn cared for many animals on that farm throughout the years and planted all the trees and plants that are on the property. She loved her outdoor time and she loved her family, flowers and animals. She was always caring for her animals, especially those that needed a little extra love. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends and was proud of her unknown number of cookbooks that she had collected.
For many years Marilyn stayed at home and was a seamstress for many people. She eventually took a job and worked in the sewing room of Cramer Products in Gardner. Many years later, she switched career fields and went to work for Quest Diagnostics in Overland Park where she would retire from in 2009.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Charles, of their home in Spring Hill; her daughter, Julie Todd and her son-in-law, Richard Hollon; many nieces and nephews that she loved and cherished; and her beloved cat, Crazy Daisy. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Wendy Todd; son, Brett Todd; brother, Donald Jenssen and a sister Hilde McLear.
