Larry Crawford Obituary

Larry Vance Crawford lost his battle with cancer on July 11th, 2019 with a strong heart and famously opinionated mind. Born on March 6th, 1936 in LeLoup, Larry attended LeLoup and Wellsville schools graduating in 1954. Jobs were scares at the time, and being a solid line-backer for the Eagles, Larry enrolled at the University of Oklahoma as a walk on to play for the Sooners where he got his bell rung right into the US Army. Larry proudly served three years in the US Army stationed at Ft. Campbell Kentucky 2nd Airborne Brigade 504th Infantry spending most of his time in Germany before returning home. Following service Larry worked for various companies as a Project Manager for industrial construction projects before retiring as a consultant.

Larry married Ruby Elizabeth Rew in 1955 where he kept her in maternity clothes for the next eight years with five children. Larry and Beth spent 64 years together without a moment apart enjoying family and friends. Larry, better known as "Papa" has a legacy that will live on thru Brenda, Leslie, Scott, Jackie, and Kerry who have blessed the family with 13 grand-children and 12 great-grandchildren.

Larry was very talented and enjoyed reading, drawing, gardening and building projects. From turning a wall in his home to his own canvas depicting funny, sad and challenging times of family life, creating his own cartoon characters, and building a family retreat, he never tired of starting, nor finishing a new project. Larry did it his way and the love and patience his family provided to the end allowed him to pass peacefully with Beth at his side. Papa will be dearly missed.

"Death is a transition of energy. If birth is the seed, then death must be the fruit. Heed this to live more fully and peacefully"
