Kenneth Doil La Rue, age 76 of Wellsville, KS passed away November 29, 2022 at Advent of Shawnee Mission Hospital. Funeral services will be 6PM, Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Wilson’s Funeral Home with visitation prior from 4-6PM. Interment will be 10AM, Friday, December 2, 2022 in the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wellsville Baptist Church in care of Wilson’s Funeral Home, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Kenneth Doil La Rue was born November 5, 1946 in Lawrence, Kansas the son of Glen Elmer La-Rue, Sr and Dorothy Irene (Rimmer) La Rue. He grew up in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1964. On April 17, 1965, Kenneth married Betty Jean Walker in Lawrence, Kansas and together they shared 57 years of marriage together before his passing. Betty survives at the home. On May 25, 1966, Kenneth joined the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged May 24, 1972. He had previously worked at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant and was employed by R O Products in Olathe for over 20 years.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; daughter, Michelle La Rue of the home; brother, Glen Elmer La Rue, Jr. and his wife, Martha of Lawrence, KS; brother, Edward La Rue of Granite City, IL; sister, Margaret La Rue of Olathe, KS; brother-in-law, Kenny Norris and family; sister-in-law, Pamela Cook and family, and sister-in-law, Nicola Osburn and family. He is preceded in death by his parents.
