Jerad Rhoades Obituary

Jerad Scott Rhoades, age 39 of Wellsville, Kansas passed away September 3, 2021 at Olathe Medical Center. Visitation will be 5-8PM, Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. Graveside services for cremains will be 10:30AM, Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Wellsville Cemetery. Procession from Wilson’s Funeral Home at 10:15AM. The family respectfully asks that in lieu of floral gifts, memorial contributions may be made to the Jerad Rhoades Memorial Fund in care of Mid-America Bank.

Jerad Scott Rhoades was born March 30, 1982 in Olathe, Kansas the son of Wayne and Jennifer (Selk) Rhoades. He grew up in Wellsville and graduated from WHS in 2001. After high school, Jerad joined the United States Army November 5, 2003. He served his country in South Korea and later served in the Middle East in Kuwait and Iraq. Jerad was honorably discharged from the US Army in 2005 with the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Combat Infantry Badge, Global War on Terrorism Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal.

On August 16, 2008 Jerad married Alisha Renea Landreth in Mission, Kansas. They were married 13 years before his passing. She survives at home with their daughter, Haylee Grace Rhoades.

Jerad was currently employed with Faith Technologies in Olathe where he was a Manufacturing Lead II. In his younger years, he worked for Nolke’s Cash Saver, Eskridge and worked for his father-in-law at 5 Star Roofing. Jerad belonged to the Wellsville American Legion Louis Hanson Post 194, the Patriot Guard of Kansas and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to grill and be outside working on his trucks and old cars.  The love of Jerad’s life was his daughter, Haylee and the time he was able to spend with her. They spent countless hours playing catch in the yard and at the softball fields.

Jerad is survived by his wife Alisha of the home with their daughter, Haylee; his parents, Wayne and Jennifer of Wellsville; his sister and brother-in-law, Brandi and Steve Stauffer of Wellsville; his brother and sister-in-law, Dustin and Jennifer Rhoades of Gardner; his parents-in-law, Marty and Jennifer Landreth of Baldwin City; grandparents, Jackie and David Landreth; sister-in-law, Laura Landreth and her wife Ariel Frink of KCMO; sister-in-law, Shelby Stahl of Baldwin City; mother-in-law, Shari Brown of Ottawa, KS; one niece, Kaylee Stauffer and nephews, Jacob and Colby Rhoades and many many wonderful loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Waverly and Mary Ann Rhoades and Dreda Selk.
