Jasper "J. Linn" Lineaus Holtwick, Jr.

Jasper Lineaus (J. Linn) Holtwick, Jr., age 86 of Wellsville, Kansas passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Promise Hospital of Overland Park. Memorial services will be held 11AM, Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Wilson's Funeral Home in Wellsvillle. A private family graveside will be held prior to memorial services at the Wellsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8, Wednesday evening, also at Wilson's. Memorial contributions may be made to the J. Linn Holtwick Memorial Fund in care of Wilson's, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Jasper Lineaus Holtwick, Jr., was born May 25, 1931 in Princeton, Kansas the son of Jasper Lineaus and Ruth Anna (Geringer) Holtwick. J. Linn graduated from Wellsville High School in 1949. On April 2, 1950, J. Linn married his high school sweetheart, Jean Louise Hill at the Wellsville United Methodist Church. They were married 45 years before her passing in 1996. He was a farmer most of his life and had also worked for Hostetter's, delivered the local mail and sold real estate. J. Linn was a member of the Wellsville United Methodist Church and the Wellsville Historical Society. He was also a president of the USD 289 school board. J. Linn loved to tinker on his farm and could fix anything. He loved spending time with his family and will be missed by all those who knew and loved his kind nature and generous spirit.
J. Linn is survived by his children; Michael and Phyllis Holtwick of Wellsville; David and Beth Holtwick of Shawnee; Anita and Richard Anderson of Baldwin City; a brother, Willis and Margot Holtwick of Lee's Summit, MO; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-granddaughter; 3 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Chester.
