Jane Ebeck Obituary

Janie Eyre Ebeck, age 74 of Wellsville, KS passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Olathe Health Hospice House. Funeral services will be 11AM, Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Wilson's Funeral Home in Wellsville. Visitation will be 6-8PM, Friday, January 18, 2019, also at Wilson's. Interment will follow services in the Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. Memorial contributions may be made to the WHS Athletic Fund in care of Wilson's, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Janie Eyre Ebeck was born January 4, 1945 in Ottawa, Kansas the daughter of Glenn William and Velma "Belle" (Pearson) Griffin. She grew up in Ottawa and graduated from OHS in 1963. On October 7, 1963, she married Hal Joseph Ebeck at the North Baptist Church in Ottawa. He preceded her in death in 2017. Janie worked briefly for the Dairy Cream in Ottawa and Nolkes grocery store in Wellsville but was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and the Rantoul Presbyterian Church. Janie loved being active in her church, loved watching her grandchildren participate in their sporting events and spending time with her family.
Janie is survived by her son, Joseph "Joey" William Ebeck of Paola; grandson, Brandon Ebeck and his wife Brenda; granddaughter Ashley Ebeck and grandson Jeff Ebeck; sisters, Beth Griffin of Pomona, and Tammy Gorton and her husband Brian of Pomona; brother, Buddy Griffin and wife, Barb of Williamsburg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Jeffery Ebeck (1987) and an infant sister, Beatrice Mae.
