Hal Joseph Ebeck, age 75 of Wellsville, Kansas passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10AM, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Wilsons Funeral Home in Wellsville. Visitation will be 6-8PM, Tuesday evening, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow services in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hal Ebeck Memorial Fund in care of Wilsons, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Hal Joseph Ebeck was born July 23, 1941 in Olathe, Kansas the son of Clarence Edward and Naomi Pearl (Jurgens) Ebeck. He grew up in the Paola and Wellsville areas and graduated from Wellsville High School in 1959. In May of that year, Hal began his 30 year career at Delco Battery in Olathe, retiring in 1998. In 1997 he began working for his son, Joseph, for Am Foam Products and stayed there for 10 years. On October 6, 1963 he married Jane Eyre Griffin in Ottawa at the North Baptist Church. They were married 48 years and later divorced.
Hal loved to fish and turkey hunt, loved playing Pitch, farming and cattle, being with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He was a member of the Rantoul Presbyterian Church and a former member of New Hope Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Hal is survived by his son, Joseph "Joey" Ebeck of Paola; grandchildren, Brandon Ebeck of Wichita, KS; Ashley Ebeck of Manhattan, KS, and Jeff Ebeck of Paola, KS and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Jeff Ebeck (1987).
