Gary Wayne Brooks, Sr.

Gary Wayne Brooks, Sr., age 70 of Wellsville, Kansas passed away Friday, January 24, 2020. Graveside services will be 2PM, Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Wellsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made the to the S.H.A.F.F. 4-H Club or the Vietnam Memorial Fund in care of Wilson's, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Gary Wayne Brooks, Sr. was born January 5, 1950 in Pittsfield, Illinois the son of Wayne LeRoy and Shirley Ann Brooks. On May 29, 1969 he married Linda Hilton in Springfield, Illinois. She preceded him in death in 2015. Gary joined the United States Army in 1969, serving in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant and spent his working years as an over the road truck driver Gary enjoyed travelling and raising cattle.
Gary is survived by his son, Gary Wayne Brooks, Jr. and his wife Leslie; son Russell Brooks and his wife Tera; nephew Eddie Brooks and his wife Michelle; 4 granddaughters, and 5 great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and granddaughter, Emily.
