Gabrielle Evangeline "Gabby" Myers

Gabrielle Evangeline Myers, age 10 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Olathe Medical Center. Memorial visitation for family and friends will be 2PM, Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. Following will be a gathering at Smokey’s BBQ where friends and family are invited to bring a dish to share for a potluck meal. Memorial contributions in Gabby’s honor may be made to Infant Toddler Services of Johnson County in care of Wilson’s, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.

Gabrielle Evangeline “Gabby” Myers was born August 30, 2011 in Olathe, Kansas, the daughter of Heidi Peacock and Robert Myers.

Gabby was an amazing surprise that just kept giving. Diagnosed after her birth with Holoprosencephaly, a condition in which 97% of children in utero, do not survive to their birth. Of the 3% that do survive, only 1% of those babies survive past 6 months. Gabby gave her family 10 miraculous years.

She was not an easy baby. She challenged her family everyday with illness, surgeries and setbacks, but even with those events consuming much of her life, she never stopped smiling. She never stopped giving her family love, kisses and affection. She thrived and reached goals that no one ever expected her to reach. She changed the lives of those around her and opened their eyes to what unconditional love truly means.

Gabby loved music and to hear her mommy singing to her. She loved tickles and boops on her nose. She loved being held tight and secrets told in her ear. She especially loved her grandpa and being at grandpa’s house. No one adored and loved her more than he did. She was his Gabby Girl.

Gabby is survived by her mother and step-father, Heidi Peacock and Drew Lafferty and her brother, Cash Lafferty, of the home; her grandpa, Bob Peacock; and her father, Roberts Myers. She is preceded in death by her grandma, Andrea Schultz.
