Evelyn Earladean Gloshen, age 85 of Lawrence, Kansas passed away Monday, August 1, 2022 at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehab. Funeral services will be 11AM, Friday, August 5, 2022 at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville, with visitation one hour prior at 10AM. Interment will follow services in the Rock Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter or a charity of your choosing.
Evelyn Earladean Gloshen was born February 28, 1937 at Bethany Hospital in KCK, the daughter of Earl Stanley and Helen Nadine (Kepler) Parks. She attended Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas. Earladean married Charles L. Gloshen in June of 1955 at Chelsea Baptist Church in KCK. They later divorced. Earladean was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker while she raised her children. She later worked as a babysitter, home care aide, was an employee at King Radio in Ottawa, Kansas and a bus attendant for Laidlaw and First Student School Bus service in Lawrence, Kansas. Earladean loved and cared for many children over her lifetime.
Earladean and her family moved from Kansas City, Kansas to Wellsville, Kansas in 1971. She later moved to Lawrence, Kansas in 1995 where she lived independently, caring for her home until her recent illness.
She loved to work and maintain a large garden at her Wellsville home for many years while raising her children. Earladean had a love for nature, flowers and animals, but her greatest love and joy was her family.
Earladean is survived by her sons, Dennis D. Gloshen (Vicki) of Eudora, KS and Daryl D. Gloshen (Roberta) of Ottawa, KS; son-in-law, Larry D. Fish of Lawrence, KS; brothers, Larry Parks, Sr. of Gardner, KS; Charles Lee Parks of Edgerton, MO; sister, Marta Orr (Jon) of Kearney, MO; sister-in-laws, Patricia Krambeck of Ottawa, KS; Shirley Brown of Gower, MO; grandchildren: Brandon Criss (Jessica), Kyle Fish (Jenni), Matthew Fish (Chloe), Emily Ditty (Matt), Natalie Gloshen, Nicholas Gloshen (Megan), Kathryn Shaffer (Matthew); 13 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gary Parks, Sr. and her beloved daughter, Denise G. Fish.
