Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Wilson, age 50 of Paola, Kansas passed away Friday, August 1, 2025 at Olathe Medical Center. Graveside services will be 10:30AM, Thursday, August 7th, 2025 at the Wellsville Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8PM, Wednesday, August 6th, 2025 at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Historical Museum in care of Wilson’s, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Elizabeth Ann Wilson was born September 5, 1974 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, the daughter of Roger Austin and Linda Lou (Heinze) Thorn. She grew up in Wellsville in her younger years before moving to Gardner and graduating from Gardner High School in 1993. Beth spent most of her adult career as a caregiver and volunteer. She had her CMA and her CNA, worked at Medicalodge in Paola and did home health for many years. She enjoyed and was proud of her time volunteering at the Miami County Historical Museum. Beth also loved being a cheerleading coach.
On July 4, 1997, she married Theodore “Buster” Wilson in Cadmus. They shared 28 years of marriage before her passing. He survives at the home in Paola.
Beth loved scrapbooking and sewing quilts. She loved riding the tractor with her father when she was little, but more than anything, she loved her grandchildren. Beth was a good friend. She had a kind and big heart and will be missed by her all those who knew and loved her.
Beth is survived by her husband of the home; her son, Derick Michael Wilson and Megan Woods and her children of Paola; grandson, Daxtyn Wilson; daughter, Katelyn Elizabeth Wilson (Daniel) and grandsons, Dawson and Broly; father, Roger Thorn of Wellsville; brothers, Gary Gerdes of Ottawa and Timmy Gerdes of Topeka; mother and father-in-law, Carl and Faye Wilson of Cadmus; sister-in-law, Kathern Wilson and (Hassan Izzo) of Wichita, KS; brother-in-law, Jake Wilson (Sheila) of Paola; several aunts and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, mother, Linda and adoptive grandparents, Betty and Virgil Lyons.
