Diane Marie Farrell

Diane Marie (Collins) Farrell , age 74, passed peacefully on February 27, 2020 in Overland Park, KS. A visitation & prayer will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home (607 Main St, Wellsville, KS 66092) Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 1:00 PM. Coffee & cake to follow at Chili Jacks across the street. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Friends of Wellsville City Library in care of Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Diane was born October 31, 1945 to Evelyn & Don Collins in Ottawa, KS. In 1963, Diane married Raymond Farrell of Wellsville, KS.
Diane was an outstanding cook who made legendary fried chicken & buttermilk chocolate cake. Diane loved the old gospel of Odetta & Mahalia Jackson, as well as an array of contemporary music ranging from that of Pavarotti, Tom Waits to Amy Winehouse. She loved being home, drinking coffee, her dogs and 'grand' dogs, reading, traveling, especially Yellowstone, and watching shows with her husband. Her quiet, soft-spoken manner was deeply contrasted by her wry wit. She will be missed for her humor and companionship.
Diane is survived by her husband, Ray, and their three children; Jeff, Jenel (Nick Schroeppel) & Lora, as well as her sister, Kathleen (Kitty) Huston (Paul), her step-brother, Jim. Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary (Fitzpatrick). Diane is loved and will be missed by her immediate and large extended family.
