Darlene was born August 21, 1942 in Grand Canyon, Arizona the oldest child of 4 to Floyd and Zola Stalnaker. In 1945, her family moved to Fullerton, Nebraska where she attended elementary and high school.
On November 6, 1974 she married Douglas Scott McMullin in Grand Island, Nebraska. A couple of months later they moved to a farm in Marceline, Missouri...she was not too sure of the farm life. Together they were parents to Debbie, Lisa, David, Kenny and Kerri. In 1979, moved to another farm in Wellsville, Kansas. Darlene grew to love farm life, even learning to manage a garden and canning the produce. She always worked outside the home: Walmart, Heartland and Kramer's Pharmacy where she worked as a pharmacy tech until her retirement in 2010.
Darlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother with many interests and talents. She also loved her dogs, Betsy and Rusty. Over the years, she enjoyed playing softball, bowling, painting, woodworking and gardening. Doug and Darlene enjoyed many adventures together over the years such as flying, hand-gliding, motorcycle trips, snow and water skiing, traveling, motor-homing and even square dancing. She loved spending time with her family, and really enjoyed her grandkids' sleepovers, crafting with them, movies, shopping and watching them at all their sporting events and activities.
She was always a very involved, beloved member of their church. She always looked forward to services, singspirations, potlucks and lending a helpful hand.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Nancy Cardenas and her youngest brother, Randy Stalnaker. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, her brother, Gary Stalnaker, her children, many-grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with many other relatives, friends that were like family to her, and her loving church family....all who will miss her dearly.
