Cindy Aune was born 3/30/1957 in East Saint Louis, IL to David Aune and Irma Prickett Aune. Cindy was the second baby sister to Shelly, and the first baby sister to Karen. Although Cindy was the third big sister to Doreen, she made up for it later in life.
During childhood Cindy and her sisters moved between East Saint Louis, Seattle, Overland Park, and finally settled in Lenexa in the mid 1960's. Cindy attended Trail Ridge, HS and Shawnee Mission Northwest.
In high school Cindy got her first job at Taco Via with the help of her friend Kim. On a sunny afternoon Kim's brother Jim stopped to visit with Kim. Cindy locked eyes with Jim, and it was love at first site. Cindy and Jim fell fast in love with each other. They had frequent dates in which they talked about getting married and having five children. Cindy wanted five girls all with names that began with C. Jim wanted five boys with names that began with J.
In October of 1974 Jim proposed to Cindy at a Mobile gas station with grease on his hands where he worked at a mechanic. On April19,1975 Cindy happily became Mrs. James Butler. Cindy and Jim had five boys, James, Josh, Joe & Jake the twins, and Justin. Cindy may have been just one big sister, but she became the one and only big momma of five boys. Cindy dedicated her whole life to being a full-time mother and wife.
On January 31, 2025 we unexpectedly lost Cindy to cancer.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, brother David and son Jake. Cindy is still the beloved mother to James, Josh, Joe (Paul), and Justin.
