Clarice Johnson Obituary

Clarice went home to her Lord and Savior on June 22, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at her home in Wellsville, KS. A Celebration of Life will be 3-7PM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Wellsville Community Center. Memorial contributions may be made to USD 289 Food Service Department for families in need.

Clarice was born to Richard and Lois Ruth Thomas on June 6, 1956 in Gardner, KS. She attended Wellsville Schools from Kindergarten through Senior High, graduating in 1976. She was a member of the Band, Choir, performed in school plays, and found her love of sewing.

She attended Pittsburg State University, earning an upholstery degree in 1976.

This is where she met her Husband Gary D Johnson. They were married in Wellsville, KS on August 17, 1974 at the United Methodist Church. Clarice and Gary were married 45 years before his death in 2019.

Clarice was very involved in the community and Church.  She did bible school at the New Hope Baptist Church for many years, was a den mother for the Wellsville Chapter of the boy scouts, and she herself was a brownie and girl scout from K-HS.

She is survived by her son Jason P. Johnson (Wellsville), Jennifer C. Moore (Henrietta Mo)

Siblings: Robert W. Thomas (Debbie) of Wellsville; Donathan R. Thomas (Kalyn) of LeLoup; Gerald L. Thomas (Debbie) of Girard; Cheryl M. Troyer (Mike) of Burlington; Charlee J Juett (Gary) of Wellsville; Grandchildren: Carson D. Johnson, Clark G. Moore, Marcus E. Moore

Great Grandson: Kai Atlas Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her Husband Gary and Parents Richard and Lois Ruth Thomas.
