Candice Nicole Reed

Candice Nicole Reed, age 42 of Wellsville, KS passed away April 16, 2018 at her home due to complications from pancreatic cancer. A memorial service will be held on May 4, 2018 at 5:30 pm at Wilson's Funeral Home in Wellsville. Her family and friends will also be walking in her honor at KC Purple Stride in support of pancreatic cancer research on May 5 at Theis Park KCMO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Wellsville City Library to continue her legacy of support.

Candi was born on February 4 1976 to Fred and Connie Anstaett in Atchison KS. Candi grew up in Atchison KS, Omaha NE, Knoxville TN, Orange Park FL, Minneapolis MN, and Granger IA. She graduated from Johnston High School in 1994 and Iowa State University in 1998 with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design.

Candi met her husband Ted in Kansas City in 2002 and they were married in Danforth Chapel, Lawrence KS, on June 17 2005. They had three children in their 12 years together: Miles Nolan, 11; Bryce Anson, who died January 3 2014 at 17 months, and Sean Edmond, 2. They have lived in Wellsville since October 2009. Candi worked for Primedia and Ascend Media as a Graphic Designer and after having children she continued to do design work on a contract basis, but mostly spent her time being a wonderful wife and mother. She also was active in Student Support Services, as president of the Wellsville Library Board, with SUDC
(Sudden Unexplained Death of a Child), and other community affairs.

Candi is survived by her husband Ted, sons Miles and Sean, brothers Bart Anstaett of Manhattan KS and Clint Anstaett of Athens TX, mother Connie Anstaett of Westmoreland KS, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews across the country. She was preceded in death by her father Fred Anstaett on January 3, 2006, her son Bryce Anson on January 3, 2014, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents.
