Brex Whalen Obituary

Brex Wayne Whalen, age 6 of Wellsville, KS passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Funeral services will be 11AM, Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Wellsville Baptist Church. Visitation will be at 9AM, two hours prior to services. Interment will follow in the Wellsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brex Whalen Memorial Fund in care of Wilsons, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Brex Wayne Whalen was born August 21, 2010 in Overland Park, KS the son of Ryan Wayne and Leighann (Stroud) Whalen. Brex attended pre-school at Topeka Lutheran and Kindergarten at Schwegler Elemetary in Lawrence before moving to Wellsville. He attended Wellsville Elementary School and was currently in the 1st grade. Brex loved fishing, being outside, and riding 4-wheelers. He loved being around people and had learned how to swim this last summer. He loved camping, chasing his sisters around the house and was a trickster. He was a loving and energetic boy. He loved to hide and scare people. The light of many lives, he brought joy to all with his smile and fun-loving nature.
Brex is survived by his father and step-mother, Ryan and Jessica Whalen of Wellsville; his mother and step-father, Leighann and Jeff Morris of Wellsville; his sisters, Jazlene and Paizley of his home with his dad; and Kiptynn of his home with his mom; his paternal grandparents, Papa Robert and Grandma Dawn Dawn Whalen of Wellsville; Papa Blair and Grandma Robin Dibben of KCMO; Papa Kevin and Grandma Eileen Johnson of McPherson; paternal great-grandparents, Grandpa Bob and Grandma Janice Whalen of Wellsville; Grandpa Mike and Grandma Mary Colby of Spring Hill; Papa Donnie and "Baca" Marie Hrabe of Wellsville; and Vivian Johnson of McPherson; paternal great-great grandparents, Harold and Phyllis Peugh of Olathe; maternal grandparents, Papa Carl and MiMi Pam Morris of Olathe; Grandma Angie Aldridge; Papa Randy Stroud of Olathe; Grandpa Mike Aldrige and Meemaw Felisha Huber of Gardner; maternal great-grandpa, Chet Clark of Oklahoma; many wonderful and loving aunts and uncles; numerous cousins and countless friends that will mourn the loss of his sweet soul in their lives.
