Bradley Carson Wright, age 68 of Baldwin City, Kansas passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at The University of Kansas Hospice House in Olathe.
Bradley "Brad" Carson Wright was born September 3, 1957, in Ottawa, Kansas the son of James Carson and Barbara Jo (Blackwell) Wright. Brad grew up in Wellsville and graduated from WHS in 1975. He was a multi-sport athlete and enjoyed coaching with his dad, Jim Wright. After graduating, Brad attended Ottawa University where he became a member of the football team after being recruited from the Intramural Team.
Brad worked for Physicians Mutual Company for many years before taking a position with his son, Jeremy where he worked for eight years at his Freight Logistics company.
Brad was an avid and involved member of the Baldwin City community. He enjoyed anything that involved sports. He helped with the cross country and track meets with the Spielman family. He was vested in every up-and-coming class of athletes and rooted for each and every student as if they were his own. Even reading live results from his hospital bed.
He loved golfing with his wife and friends at the Osawatomie Golf Club. Most of all, Brad loved spending time with his grandchildren at his house or in the pool.
Brad had a fun, teasing-manner and contagious smile which endeared him to his many friends and strangers alike.
Brad is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol of the home in Baldwin City; mother, Barbara Wright of Wellsville; brother, Curt Wright (Karen) of Wellsville; sister, Jana Tobin of Olathe; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Lauren Wright of Baldwin City and their children, Charlie and Jack; son, Connor Wright of Austin, TX; son, Brian Wright and Jennifer Butler of Overland Park and their children Dakota and Austin Wright and loving niece and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Jim Wright.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Baldwin City Beer Company, 520 High Street, Baldwin City, Kansas 66006 on Monday, May 18th. Friends and family are welcome to stop by between the hours of 5 and 8pm.
