She was born on February 10, 1938 to George Marion & Georgia Wilma (Needels) Rockhold – the 4th of 8 children. She graduated from Vinland High School in May of 1956 and then married Robert William Lawrenz on June 3, 1956 and they celebrated 65 years together. They were blessed with four children, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was active in the Boy Scouts starting as a den mother with her son and rejoining later with her grandsons. She continued to help until her health prevented her from participating. She also was troop leader for her daughters while they were in Girl Scouts. She enjoyed spending time with her children and loved having their friends join them in activities.
She was very creative and enjoyed sewing, making most of the clothes that she and her children wore. She also loved scrapbooking, stamp crafts and was an avid reader.
After she and Robert became empty-nesters, they participated in square dancing clubs and outings where they made many friends. She never lost her playful spirit and always enjoyed playing board and card games with anyone who would join her.
She was very proud of her 10 grandchildren and was very excited to become a great-grandmother and get to be called Gigi.
