Betty Sue Laster, age 80 of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at her home.
Betty Sue Laster was born, June 21, 1946, in Paola, Kansas the daughter of George Burel Golden, Jr. and Ruth Bernice (Whitney) Golden.
She grew up in Osawatomie, Kansas and on June 4, 1968, she married George Alvin Laster. They were married 58 years before her passing.
Betty worked for King Radio and Walmart for many years. She loved to work outside in her yard, was a talented crafter and an avid KU fan.
Betty is survived by her husband, George of the home in Ottawa; son, Rick Hart of Oregon; son Doug Hart of Japan, daughter, Penny Amaido of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Cindy Cain of Alta Vista, KS; daughter, Sandy Laster of Lawrence, KS; son, George A. Laster, Jr. of Gardner, KS; sister, Judy Lyons of Osawatomie, KS; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Jack and Jerry Golden and a sister, Martha McIntosh.
