Barbara Nimz Obituary

Barbara Ann Nimz, age 58 of Ottawa passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Funeral mass will be held 10AM, Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa. Visitation will be 6-8PM, Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 at Wilson's Funeral Home in Wellsville. Cremation will follow services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin County Cancer Society in care of Wilson's, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Barbara Ann Nimz was born May 21, 1959 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Eugene Donald and Bessie Lou (Burton)Shryer. She grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Schlagle High School in 1977. After high school she attended KCKCC and graduated with an associate's degree in Accounting. On December 19, 1992 she married Daryl Ray Nimz at the Saint Jospeh Church in Shawnee. They were married almost 25 years before her passing. He survives at the home. Barb worked for several dental offices, most recently for Dr. Stephen Huber, DDS in Leawood. She worked at Shawnee Mission North and most recently for the Ottawa School District where she was a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa and loved horse back riding, sewing, crocheting, playing Bunko, and spending time with her family.
Barbara is survived by her husband of the home; mother, Bessie Shryer of Hermitage, MO; brother, Jerry Shryer of Jessup, GA; sisters, Linda Cavender of Little Elm, Texas and Amy Shryer of Georgia; daughter, Christy Cisneros of Edgerton; son, Robert E. Kasper, III and Brandy of Roeland Park; son, Mathew Nimz and Venessa of Roeland Park; daughter Lisa Snow and Joshua of Lincoln, MO; daughter, Randi Nimz of Shawnee; 5 grandchildren, Colton and Kaylee Cisneros, and Joshua, Keaton, and Lilandra Snow; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, a brother, Eugene and son-in-law, Tony Cisneros.
