Adrienne "Addie" Elise (Vix) Horn

Adrienne “Addie” Elise Horn, age 92 of Wellsville, KS passed away May 29, 2021 at Lakeview Village in Lenexa. Funeral services will be 11AM, Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. Visitation will be 5-7PM, Friday, June 4, also at Wilson’s. Interment in the Wellsville Cemetery will follow services on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Wilson’s, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.Adrienne “Addie” Elise Horn was born February 12, 1929 in Hochfelden, France, the daughter of Michael and Elise (Sutter) Vix. She grew up in France and graduated from high school, attending finishing school after. Her finishing school training equipped her with the life skills to become an amazing cook, take care of children and also gave her the opportunity to learn additional languages. She became an interpreter for the United States Army. After becoming a war wife to her first husband, she relocated to the United States, translating paperwork for the Army and during this time, met her husband, William “Bill” Arthur Horn. They were married on August 4, 1956 in Kansas City, Kansas. To this union, 4 children were born. They moved to Wellsville in 1969 where they bought a home and raised their children. Bill passed away June 11, 1983. Addie owned the gift shop on Main Street for 4 years and worked as a cook at the Colonial Steakhouse, the Dari Bar and the Wellsville Diner.

Addie is survived by her children; Ilene Elliott and her husband Danny of Easley, South Carolina; Bill Horn and his wife, Vicki of Olathe, KS; Dennis Horn and his wife Sheri of Peoria, Illinois; Mike Horn and his wife Sandy of Rantoul, KS; a sister, Georg-Ette Wernert of Strasbourg, France; 6 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter. and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Paul, and her 2 nephews, Nobert and Sean-Marc.
