Jeannine Yvonne Hilliard

Jeannine Yvonne Hilliard, age 67 of Gardner, Kansas passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at Olathe Hospice House. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM, Monday, February 26, 2024 at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville, Kansas. Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date at Leavenworth National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Jeannine Yvonne Hilliard was born April 29,1956 in Marlborough, MA, the daughter of Robert Paul Lacroix and Claudette Yvonne Casavant. She grew up in Brandon, Florida and while in school at Brandon High, was a Dancerette and also sang her Junior and Senior years. She was an honor graduate, graduating 3rd in her class in 1974. After graduation Jeannine attended college and received an Associates Degree in Business.  After graduation, Jeannine joined the United States Army in Jacksonville, FL and was subsequently stationed in Ft. Ord, California and served in Communications while there and was Honorably Discharged in 1976. 

Jeannine worked as a Controller for Restaurant Magic in Tampa, FL for some time and also worked at Murray Industries as an Accountant.

She loved being a Dancerette, taking care of and riding horses, barrel racing, ceramics, painting and loved music. She played the flamenco guitar and enjoyed singing. She loved her family, was caring and giving in nature to everyone. Above all, she loved her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to have her in their lives.

Jeannine is survived by her mother, Claudette Whisenant; sons, Shawn and Brian Hilliard; brothers, Robert and David Hult; grandchildren: Alexis Hilliard, Zachary Hilliard, McKenzie Hilliard, Forrest Hilliard, Flynn Hilliard and soon-to-be, Finley Hilliard, (due in April).
